A dedicated hotline is now available for these situations: on the victim support number 142, you can get advice anywhere in Switzerland. All calls are free of charge, every conversation is confidential.

The victim support number is accessible 24/7. Your call will be taken by trained staff, who will listen, provide information on your rights and options, and – if necessary – help you to find a safe refuge.

Important: Not for emergencies

The victim support number 142 is not an emergency number. In cases of immediate danger, call the police (117), and in a medical emergency, call the ambulance service (144).

Get support, even if you feel unsure

You can call the hotline even if you’re not sure whether you’ve experienced or witnessed violence. The advice you receive will help you to understand your situation and consider possible next steps.

Advice is available in French, German or Italian. If necessary, support can also be arranged in other languages.
